Var
The Var has the longest coastline all
the Provence Côte d'Azur departments, with 300
kms of coast. It is also the sunniest department in
France, thanks to the Mistral which sweeps away the
clouds.
You will find there the most beautiful sandy beaches, summertime resorts frequently visited by jet-set people, and golden islands which are worth being seen.
The coast is also difficult to reach
sometimes, with creeks that you can only reach via old
coastguard paths. The sea views are unbelievable and
the atmosphere clear and luminous.
The Var also has huge forests that
we must all protect from the accidental fires that threaten
mainly during summer time. These forests are dotted
with small villages where you can appreciate calm and
quietness.
In this department the real estate
prices are directly proportional to the fact that we
are close to the sea or not. Away from the coast, prices
are still at an affordable level.
